16-Year-Old Dies in ATV Crash on Michigan Drive at 7th Avenue [Tucson, AZ]
Teen Killed in Tucson ATV Collision
TUCSON, AZ (May 29, 2020) — A 16-year-old died in an ATV crash with a vehicle on West Michigan Drive at South 7th Avenue late Thursday.
According to reports, the 16-year-old male drove an ATV with a 13-year-old passenger. Investigations proved that the ATV had failed to stop at a marked stop sign and collided with a gray 2011 Honda Accord at the intersection.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the 16-year-old and 13-year-old passenger to Banner University Medical Center. That is where the teen died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the 13-year-old continues to receive care for serious non-life-threatening injuries.
It appears that neither of them wore helmets during the accident.
As for the Honda driver, he or she stayed at the scene for police questioning. Officers have ruled out impairment as a contributing source to the accident, but plan to investigate the case further.
