Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Pedestrian Crash near 3rd Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 23, 2020) – A woman suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run on La Cienega Boulevard on Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the Beverly Grove neighborhood near 3rd Street at approximately 9:00 PM.
A report from the LA Police Department showed the woman walking westbound in the north crosswalk at the intersection prior to the incident. Afterward, a vehicle traveling southbound on La Cienega struck the victim and left the scene.
Paramedics sent the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Fortunately, she was later listed in stable condition.
Police did not release the description of the involved vehicle nor the identity of its driver. However, the Los Angeles City Council, through its Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund, is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the driver’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
