Danielle Perez Killed, Eric Solis Charged in Santa Teresa Car Accident
SANTA TERESA, NM (May 28, 2020) — A mother of five died on May 9 following a multi-vehicle collision on McNutt Road near Sunland Park.
According to Dona Ana County prosecutors, officers charged 29-year-old Eric Solis with one count of homicide by vehicle and five counts of great bodily injury by vehicle.
In addition, the Texas man faces accounts of running a red light. Above all, he is charged with causing a four-car collision that killed Danielle Perez, of El Paso, as well as injuring three of her children.
Family members say Danielle’s car collided with Solis’ vehicle, which drove over the center lane. In addition, two other vehicles somehow crashed in the accident.
Unfortunately, Perez succumbed to her injuries at the scene while paramedics shuttled her three children to a hospital.
Loved ones say 16-year-old Alizae Perez suffered a punctured liver, two mangled legs and internal bleeding. 13-year-old Giselle Perez suffered a broken leg and has already undergone surgery. Kingston Perez, 3, who was sitting in the backseat with Giselle, sustained a broken arm and is unable to move the right side of his body.
