Nathan Whitteker Detained Following Hit-and-Run DUI Collision
OJAI, CA (May 22, 2020)—A woman suffered major injuries following Wednesday’s DUI hit-and-run accident at South La Luna Avenue and West El Roblar Drive.
According to news reports, the incident happened around 6:18 p.m. just before California Highway Patrol units learned word of the collision. When officers arrived, they determined that a 2009 Nissan Titan driver had failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a 2003 Toyota Camry driver.
The driver of the Nissan fled the scene; however, he did return on foot and was arrested by police.
Nathan Whitteker, 34, from Ojai faces DUI and hit-and-run charges after causing the two-car accident and injuring the other driver, whom paramedics brought to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
Police booked Whitteker into Ventura County Main Jail, but the case remains open as it demands further investigation.
