Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Driver in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (May 21, 2020) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident at North 24th Street and Thomas Road early Wednesday.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the unidentified woman was crossing near the intersection when a driver struck her. Police further clarified that the woman was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. She died shortly after while the driver stayed at the scene during police questioning.
In the investigation, officers confirmed that alcohol and drugs did not play a role; however, an investigation surrounding the outstanding details is underway.
