Luke Mancebo, 15, Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Flower Street [Delhi, CA]
High School Student Involved in Fatal Motorcycle and Big Rig Accident near Bradbury Road
DELHI, CA (May 17, 2020) – Police identified Luke Mancebo as the high school student who died in a motorcycle crash on Flower Street on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Bradbury Road.
The 15-year-old Hilmar High School student was driving a 2002 Yamaha Trail motorcycle when he failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection. As a result, he collided with an approaching 2010 Kenworth semi-truck.
Mancebo was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Emergency crews pronounced him deceased at the scene. The driver of the big rig, 28-year-old Jonathan Calderon of Turlock, was not injured in the incident.
Police do not consider drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the collision. However, they continue to investigate the case.
