Anthony Martin Severely Hurt in Highway 50 Hit-and-Run Accident [Sacramento, CA]
Anthony Martin Hospitalized Following Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 50 Near Stockton Boulevard
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 21, 2020)—A 22-year- old man is fighting for his life after last Thursday’s hit-and-run crash on Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard left him hospitalized.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Young, speed likely played a role in the two-vehicle accident.
A driver of a white Ford Crown Victoria that sustained front-end damage remains at large. According to investigations, the crash took place on May 14 when 22-year-old Anthony Martin was heading home from work. The Ford Crown Victoria collided with his vehicle under uncertain circumstances.
Good Samaritans stopped at the scene and tended to Martin while the suspect fled the scene. However, authorities have an idea who the driver might be, but more investigation is essential to identify the driver.
Martin sustained a severe brain injury and damage to his spinal cord. The father of one remains on a ventilator at UC Davis Medical Center and in an unresponsive state.
If anyone would like to help officers determine the whereabouts of the driver, please call local authorities.
