One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway [Mission Viejo, CA]

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle After Running near Alicia Parkway

 
MISSION VIEJO, CA (May 19, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway southbound on Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Alicia Parkway.
 
Officials said that they first received a call about a person who was running in the lanes of the freeway. As a result, a car struck the victim.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. In their report, they did not provide the victim’s identity.
 
It was not clear what vehicle struck the pedestrian. However, officers were talking with the drivers of a Toyota Camry and a big rig.
 
CHP officers did not release additional information. However, they continue to investigate the accident.
