Martha Guzman Killed in Head-On Crash on Hatch Road [Modesto, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Accident near Central Avenue
MODESTO, CA (May 13, 2020) – Police identified Martha Guzman as the victim who died in a head-on crash on Hatch Road on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Central Avenue at approximately 6:30 AM.
A report showed that the Modesto woman drove her red car from the eastbound lane to the center median. Afterward, she drove directly into the westbound lane. As a result, she crashed into a white pickup truck that was heading westbound on the same road.
As a result, emergency crews said Guzman died at the scene. The pickup driver from Modesto, 18-year-old Joe Soriano, is expected to survive his injuries. His passenger did not sustain injuries in the crash.
It is unclear why Guzman drove over the center divider. However, the police continue to investigate the accident.
