Car Rear-Ends Farm Truck in Fatal Accident near Avenue 328
VISALIA, CA (May 19, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man died in a rear-end crash on Road 80 on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Avenue 328.
A report showed that a southbound 2010 Prius was driving erratically on Road 80 prior to the accident. As a result, the car crashed into the back of a commercial farming truck at the intersection.
Crews pronounced a 17-year-old girl in the backseat of the Prius dead at the scene. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The 20-year-old man who drove the Prius and a 16-year-old passenger were rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with critical injuries. However, the driver later died due to severe injuries.
The cause of the crash is not yet known. However, an investigation is ongoing.
