Alejandro Madrid Killed in Car Crash on 210 Freeway [Sylmar, CA]
Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Car Crash near Polk Street
SYLMAR, CA (May 14, 2020) – Police identified Alejandro Madrid as the victim who died in a fiery car crash on 210 Freeway on Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Polk Street around 10:55 PM.
The 39-year-old man from Pasadena was driving a 2012 Cadillac vehicle when he crashed with a semi-truck. The Cadillac caught fire in the incident.
Emergency crews pronounced Madrid dead at the scene. They did not report other injuries.
Crash debris was seen scattered in lanes of the freeway prompting the authorities to close all eastbound lanes of the freeway for more than five hours while officials clear the wreckage.
CHP officers did not disclose if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
