2 Killed in Two-Car Accident in Riverside

 
RIVESIDE, CA (May 18, 2020)—Two people died in Friday’s head-on collision on Central Avenue near Montclair Drive.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department, the two-car accident happened around 12:35 p.m. Police determined through investigations that a westbound Jeep traveling on Central Avenue crossed over the center line for unknown reasons.
 
The 28-year-old Riverside driver subsequently struck a Toyota Corolla on the opposite side, sending it off the road and striking a tree and a pole.
 
Officer Ryan Railsback, a Police Department spokesman, said the driver of the Toyota died at the scene while a passenger died at the hospital. In addition, at least one person in the Jeep sustained unsaid injuries.
 
Although names had not been mentioned, officers described the Toyota Corolla driver as a 19-year-old Riverside resident and the passenger as a 62-year-old Riverside woman.
 
Per reports, police have not yet arrested anyone involved in the accident. In addition, the crash remains under investigation.
