John Godoy Dies in Motorcycle Accident on 605 Freeway Involving Multiple Cars [Norwalk, CA]
John Godoy Killed in Norwalk Motorcycle Collision
NORWALK, CA (May 14, 2020) — A 62-year-old motorcyclist died following Wednesday’s multi-vehicle crash on the 605 Freeway near Alondra Boulevard.
The fatal collision befell around 5:00 a.m. in the carpool lane of the freeway. According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Armando Perdomo, a Lexus sport utility vehicle and a Toyota Prius collided on the northbound side.
Investigators believe the Toyota Prius slammed into the center divider and overturned onto its side in the carpool lane; the SUV was also in the carpool lane, yet ahead of the Prius.
Seconds later, a motorcyclist struck the underside of the overturned Prius, which pushed the Toyota Prius into the Lexus driver who was reportedly standing outside the vehicle, helping the driver of the Toyota.
Per reports, the Lexus driver suffered moderate injuries while the Prius driver complained of pain. Unfortunately, the 62-year-old motorcyclist, whom officials identified as John Godoy, died at the scene.
No new information was available; however, investigators are looking into the liabilities and circumstances that drove the crash.
In light of this devastating news, we would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and friends of John Godoy.
