Trenton Mersola Dies in Motorcycle Collision on Central Avenue [Riverside, CA]
Trenton Mersola Killed in Motorcycle Accident at Central Avenue and El Cerrito Drive
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 8, 2020) — A Riverside man died in a motorcycle accident at Central Avenue and El Cerrito Drive.
According to Officer Ryan Railsback, the 20-year-old Trenton Mersola died when his 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a 2009 Toyota RAV4.
Through investigations, officers learned that Mersola failed to stop at a red traffic light while riding westbound on Central Avenue. His Harley subsequently collided with the RAV4 driver, who authorities say was attempting a left turn on a green traffic light.
The 22-year-old Riverside woman operating the RAV4 escaped harm and stayed at the scene for questioning.
The investigation has proved thus far that neither alcohol nor drugs contributed to the accident, although the accident requires more investigation.
We would like to express our sympathies to the family and friends of Trenton Mersola.
