Fatal Car Crash on Fairfax Road and Highway 223 [Arvin, CA]
Driver Dies Following Three-Vehicle Accident in Arvin
ARVIN, CA (May 5, 2020)—One person died following Monday’s three-vehicle crash at South Fairfax Road and Highway 223.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Lexus, a Mini Cooper and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck collided around 5:15 a.m. When officers responded to the scene, they learned that the driver of the Lexus was driving at a high rate of speed along South Fairfax Road.
While the unidentified driver made unsafe multiple passes, he had failed to make a stop at the intersection with Highway 223, where a westbound MINI Cooper struck his vehicle.
The impact sent the Lexus off the road and into a field while the MINI Cooper sideswiped an eastbound Toyota Tundra along the highway.
As a result of this devastating crash, the Lexus driver died at the scene. Neither the Toyota Tundra nor the MINI cooper driver sustained injuries.
At this time, CHP officers do not know whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, which demands a follow-up examination.
