2 Girls Hurt in ATV Accident in Laton
LATON, CA (May 1, 2020)—Two girls suffered serious injuries following an ATV accident near Cedar Street and East Excelsior Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Salas, a 10-year-old girl operated the ATV with the 6-year-old girl as the passenger in the back.
For unknown reasons, the ATV overturned, causing moderate to major injuries to both children.
Paramedics responded and transported the 10-year-old via helicopter to Valley Children’s Hospital. Paramedics listed her in critical condition as of Tuesday. Meanwhile, the other girl’s condition remains unclear.
Silas determined through investigations that the girls did not wear helmets at the time. However, more investigation is required to determine the liabilities.
