Man Killed in Car Accident on 280 Freeway [San Jose, CA]
Solo Vehicle Involved in Fatal Crash near Highway 87
SAN JOSE, CA (May 2, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a man died in a solo car accident on 280 Freeway on early Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Highway 87 around 1:40 AM.
Reports showed the victim driving a gray Chevrolet Impala in the northbound lanes of the freeway when the car veered right, left the road, and hit a guard rail.
Officials located the victim and his passenger unresponsive and extricated them from the vehicle. The victim died at the scene. However, the driver’s name has not been publicly released pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.
Paramedics transported the other man to a local hospital with major injuries.
Police did not release any other details. However, an investigation is ongoing.
