Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Delaware Street and 9th Avenue [San Mateo, CA]
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in San Mateo
SAN MATEO, CA (May 5, 2020) — Authorities need witnesses’ help in identifying the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man Sunday in a pedestrian accident on Delaware Street and 9th Avenue.
According to news reports, officers responded to the scene around 5:00 a.m. to find the body of a man in the roadway. Evidence has led authorities to believe that the pedestrian had been hit by a hit-and-run driver.
They described the victim as a 58-year-old San Mateo man.
Because information seems limited, police need the public’s help in identifying the whereabouts of the driver or information surrounding the make and model of the vehicle. Anyone with information should call San Mateo police Sgt. Craig Collom at 650-522-7742 or e-mail ccollom@cityofsanmateo.org.
We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim and hope you find strength and courage in your loved ones during this heavy time.
