Martez Begay Arrested After DUI Crash on 20th Street [Phoenix, AZ]

30-Year-Old Woman Dead in DUI Crash near Highland Avenue

 
PHOENIX, AZ (April 29, 2020) – Police arrested Martez Lyle Begay after a DUI crash on 20th Street on late Wednesday night.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened near Highland Avenue around 9:30 PM.
 
A 23-year-old man drove a 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck. After that, he traveled left of the center while preparing to turn left into a driveway. As a result, he crashed head-on with a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
 
Paramedics transported the 30-year-old female rider to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries. However, her identity was not yet released pending kin notification.
 
Begay and his passenger did not sustain injuries in the incident.
 
Begay displayed signs and symptoms consistent with impairment. As a result, police booked him into the Maricopa County jail and charged with manslaughter.
