Pedestrian Hit, Injured by 2 Cars in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on 805 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 30, 2020) — A man sustained grave injuries Wednesday afternoon after being struck by two cars on the 805 Freeway near Imperial Avenue.
Officers had to close several lanes of the 805 South Freeway following the 2 p.m. crash.
The man, whose name has not been released, was hit by a red Dodge sedan and a Honda SUV as he ran across the freeway lanes. Shortly after, paramedics brought him to UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near the Ocean View Boulevard and Imperial Avenue exits. They have yet to determine what drove the pedestrian to run across the freeway at the time. Anyone with information should call authorities.
