Police Officers Hospitalized Following DUI Accident in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (May 1, 2020) — A pair of Phoenix police officers sustained injuries following a DUI car accident on McDowell Road near North 45th Avenue Sunday night.
According to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, the accident took place when the two officers were heading westbound on West McDowell Road around 10:30 p.m. A vehicle traveling eastbound entered their lane and crashed into their patrol vehicle.
As a result, paramedics transported the officers to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As for the other driver, investigators learned that he or she exhibited signs of impairment. Police arrested the driver for DUI not long after.
