Two Hospitalized After Crash on 5 Freeway [Santa Clarita, CA]
Speeding Leads to Injury Crash on Rye Canyon Road
SANTA CLARITA, CA (April 26, 2020) – Paramedics sent two people to the hospital following a crash on 5 Freeway on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Rye Canyon Road around 6:03 PM.
Reports showed a Chrysler sedan and a Toyota sedan plunging off the northbound freeway onto a surface street. The Chrysler flipped upside down at the fence line.
The driver of the Chrysler was extricated with an apparent head injury, while the Toyota driver appeared to have moderate injuries. Both parties were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
Speed was considered a factor in the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
