Teen Dies in Rollover Crash on 10 Freeway Near Crenshaw Boulevard [Los Angeles, CA]
Passenger Ejected, Killed in Solo-Car Crash in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 28, 2020) — A 16-year-old died following a rollover crash on 10 Freeway near Crenshaw Boulevard Friday afternoon.
The accident reportedly took place in Los Angeles’ Jefferson Park neighborhood around 3:20 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old boy was at the wheel of a 2019 Dodge Charger with three other 16-year-old boys in the vehicle. For unknown reasons, the teen driver lost control of the Charger and slammed into the center divider wall. Due to the impact, the Dodge overturned onto its roof and ejected one of the passengers from the cabin.
Paramedics arrived and transported all four teens to a hospital where one of them–the ejected victim–died. Two other passengers, as well as the driver, were treated for moderate injuries, CHP officers said.
It remains unclear at this point as to what drove the crash or in the manner in which the accident occurred. However, any witnesses willing to shed light on the matter should call the CHP’s Central Los Angeles-area office at 213-744-2331.
