Ruben Etcheverria Arrested After Crash on White Lane [Bakersfield, CA]
Boy Critical After Hit-and-Run Crash on Hughes Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 23, 2020) – Police arrested Ruben Etcheverria after a crash in the 2500 block of White Lane on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Hughes Lane around 5:00 AM. Reports showed the three-year-old victim in the roadway when a passing pick-up truck struck him.
Paramedics transported the boy to a local hospital where officials listed him in critical, but stable condition.
Etcheverria, 46, of Bakersfield, the driver of the pick-up fled the scene. The suspect returned over an hour later. After that, police arrested him for felony hit-and-run involving injury.
