David Hopfner Dies in Motorcycle Collision With Vehicle on Clayton Road at Heather Drive
CONCORD, CA (April 28, 2020)—A motorcycle collision with a vehicle on Clayton Road at Heather Drive Friday morning turned fatal.
Tragic befell around 7:15 a.m., just before authorities responded to the crash.
At the scene, Concord Police Department investigators determined that 18-year-old David Hopfner was heading westbound on his motorcycle when he collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Heather Drive and Clayton Road.
Emergency Personnel reacted with haste and transported the teen to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he died. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old Pittsburg driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police questioning.
Reports did not include information surrounding whether impairment played a role or other factors that may have driven the accident; however, an investigation regarding these uncertainties remain.
