Antonio Vazquez Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Limonite Avenue [Riverside, CA]
Antonio Vazquez Hit, Killed by Driver at Limonite Avenue and Camino Real
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 28, 2020) — A 19-year-old landscaper died Thursday morning after being struck by a driver at Limonite Avenue and Camino Real.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Antonio Vazquez perished in the crash that befell around 7 a.m.
Witnesses say that as he began loading equipment onto the bed of a parked work truck, a driver of an oncoming gold sedan drove into the coned-off lane of Eastbound Limonite Avenue. The driver subsequently struck the La Habra man before the sedan overturned onto its roof.
Crews responded after hearing word of the accident and found two cars with significant damage.
There, they found the sedan driver, whose identity has not been released, with minor injuries in the accident. They also found Vazquez suffering from major traumatic injuries, which he had later succumbed to.
Meanwhile, investigators scoured the scene for evidence but have yet to determine any leading causes that drove the crash. Thus far, neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be contributing sources to the accident; however, investigators encourage witnesses with information to call Deputy Ditfurth at the Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.
