Ruben Gomez Arrested After Fatal Crash on Euclid Avenue [Ontario, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Crash near Riverside Drive
ONTARIO, CA (April 9, 2020) – Police officers arrested Ruben Gomez after a fatal crash on Euclid Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Riverside Drive around 3:30 PM.
Police said the Chino man was speeding with another vehicle when the other driver lost control, causing that vehicle to crash into several trees.
A passenger in the car died at the scene. However, the driver required hospitalization after suffering injuries. The name of that passenger is not released. In addition, the driver is in critical condition.
Gomez, 22, left after the crash. Police said he drove over the debris from the wrecked vehicle as he fled. He was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run following a street race.
