31-Year-Old Man Dies in Crash on Highway 98 [Holtville, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash near 8 Freeway
HOLTVILLE, CA (April 17, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a 31-year-old man died in a crash on Highway 98 on Friday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just west of 8 Freeway.
A report showed the Yuma man driving a Lexus on the eastbound lane when he crashed into a Ford F-150 who was traveling westbound at the time of the crash. As a result, the Ford spun off the roadway and landed on the shoulder of the highway.
The driver of the Lexus died at the scene. His name was not yet released prior to kin notification. The 32-year-old man from Somerton driving the Ford reported pain to his face.
An investigation showed the driver of the Lexus driving erratically prior to the collision. However, there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene of the crash.
