1 Dead in Multi-Vehicle Rollover Accident on Highway 101 Near Embarcadero Road [Palo Alto, CA]
Fatal Rollover Crash Reported in Palo Alto
PALO ALTO, CA (April 21, 2020)—One person died Monday following a multi-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 101 near Embarcadero Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the first call came in around 4:24 p.m. and purportedly involved a Toyota Prius, yellow Ford Mustang and Chevrolet SUV.
CHP officers determined that a minor two-vehicle collision transpired around that time. CHP Officer Pablo Rios said a third vehicle, whose driver tried avoiding the two-car crash, made an unsafe turning movement. As a result, this maneuver caused the vehicle to overturn and eject one person out of the cabin.
Unfortunately, the ejected victim died at the scene.
More officials arrived and closed three lanes for investigation and cleanup purposes. By 6:45 p.m., they lifted the closure, freeing up traffic to commuters.
At this time, the liabilities and circumstances have yet to be determined by officers. However, an investigation is ongoing.
In light of this heavy news, our law firm would like to take this moment to send its deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim.
