SONORA, CA (April 21, 2020) — Three people suffered minor to major injuries following a DUI head-on collision Friday on Parrotts Ferry Road near Porcina Way.
 
According to Sonora California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened just north of Porcina Way around 9:35 p.m.
 
A 2017 Honda Civic, traveling southbound on Parrotts Ferry Road, crossed into northbound traffic. As a result, it struck a northbound vehicle. Both vehicles collided head-on, causing injuries to three occupants.
 
Anna Marie Veredas of Sonora–the driver of the Honda—and 64-year-old Judith Ellen Lawrence—a passenger of the northbound vehicle–suffered minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics shuttled them to Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the northbound driver, whom authorities identified as 63-year-old Christopher Brian Mansfield, suffered major injuries in the accident and was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
 
Authorities investigating the crash determined that Veredas, 46, had been under the influence of alcohol at the time, which later resulted in her arrest.
 
No other information was available; however, officers encourage any witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.
