Philip Turner Killed, Andrew McBride Injured in T-Bone Accident on Avenue 264 [Visalia, CA]
Philip Turner Dead, Andrew McBride Hurt, Willem Du Plessis Uninjured in Two-Car Accident on Avenue 264 at Road 164
VISALIA, CA (April 20, 2020)—A 58-year-old man died in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning on Avenue 264 at Road 164.
The crash unfolded in a broadside fashion and injured 36-year-old Andrew McBride, of Tulare, whom paramedics transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries.
According to investigators, the 11:00 a.m. collision happened when Philip Turner arrived at a stop sign at Road 164 and Avenue 264. For unknown reasons, Turner entered the intersection — which has a two-way stop sign — right before a northbound 2014 RAM pickup struck the side of his 2009 Ford pickup.
Authorities learned that McBride and Turner were heading westbound before the accident.
Unfortunately, Turner died as a result of his injuries.
As for the RAM driver — Willem Du Plessis of Tulare — he survived the accident with no injuries. In addition, he stayed at the scene for investigations.
Police determined that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a contributing source in the accident. However, because details remain short, authorities urge those with insight to call the Visalia Area CHP office at 734-6767.
Our law firm would like to take this moment to send its deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Philip Turner.
