DAVENPORT, CA (April 17, 2020) — A rider suffered serious injuries Tuesday following a motorcycle crash on Highway 1 near Swanton Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the San Francisco rider tried illegally crossing the double yellow lines to pass a Honda Pilot; however, the driver of the Honda began making a left turn as the 26-year-old tried to pass him or her. As a result, both vehicles collided, causing serious injuries to the rider.
Police did not provide any additional information into the accident. In addition, authorities do not know if the Honda driver suffered an injury or if impairment played a factor in the accident.
The authorities are conducting an deep investigation into the cause of the accident at this time.
