San Ysidro Electric Scooter Crash on 805 Freeway
SAN YSIDRO, CA (April 17, 2020) — A Chula Vista man died Wednesday after an electric scooter crash on 805 Freeway near Highway 905.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Salvador Castro, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m.
When CHP officers arrived, they discovered a man ejected from his Vectrix scooter after it crashed into a Nissan. Police did not release his identity due to a pending family notification.
As for the 22-year-old San Diego man driving the Nissan, he escaped the crash with no injuries. In addition, police determined that the driver was not under the influence.
Officials closed the right two lanes for investigative purposes. However, at this time, the liabilities of the accident have yet to be confirmed.
