Eddie Reeves Injured in Head-On Collision on Santa Fe Drive [Cressey, CA]
Eddie Reeves Hospitalized, Marco Galvan Uninjured in Two-Car Accident on Santa Fe Drive Near El Capitan Way
CRESSEY, CA (April 17, 2020)—A driver suffered moderate injuries Thursday following a head-on accident on Santa Fe Drive near El Capitan Way.
According to Officer Eric Zuniga, the police responded to the scene at approximately 6:19 a.m. Authorities arrived to find two cars involved that had crashed just north of Cressey.
Authorities say 39-year-old Marco Galvan allowed his westbound Jaguar sedan, traveling at about 60 miles per hour, to drift onto the right shoulder. The Winton man subsequently overcorrected, lost control and traveled into the eastbound lanes. There, it collided with an eastbound GMC Yukon driven by 40-year-old Eddie Reeves.
Per CHP, the Yukon caused damage to the right front of the Jaguar, shearing off the front sometime during the collision. The impact also pinned Reeves, also of Winton, in his SUV for nearly 20 minutes before firefighters freed him.
Paramedics transported him to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor to moderate injuries. Galvin suffered no injuries in the accident and authorities have not said what caused him to lose control of the car since impairment has been ruled out.
