Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Orange Street Near Santa Ana River [Redlands, CA]
Rider Dies Following Redlands Motorcycle Crash on Orange Street
REDLANDS, CA (April 16, 2020) — A 26-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle crash on Orange Street with two cars near the Santa Ana River.
According to reports, the accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. Authorities believe the 26-year-old, traveling south on Orange Street in a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle, attempted to pass another southbound vehicle. However, as he crossed the double yellow lines, his Kawasaki struck a northbound car before striking the southbound vehicle he initially tried to pass.
As a result of the accident, the Redlands man died at the scene. Paramedics had to transport the northbound driver to a hospital for minor injuries; the other driver, however, was unharmed.
Detectives closed the area for nearly six hours as they scoured the scene for clues that could explain other outstanding details. Anyone who holds insight into this crash should contact local authorities.
