Motorcyclist Dies in Hollister Collision on Highway 25 and Highway 156
HOLLISTER, CA (April 16, 2020) — A 49-year-old man died in Tuesday’s motorcycle collision that involved a tractor-trailer at Highway 25 and Highway 156.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man’s identity has not been released by the San Benito County Coroner’s Office pending identification and notification of next of kin.
The incident happened around 10:20 a.m. The motorcyclist was said to be riding his 2009 Piaggio southbound on Highway 25 when a 2010 Kenworth tractor-trailer, heading westbound at Highway 156, collided with his Piaggio.
CHP officers say the Kenworth had entered the intersection during a red traffic light, at speeds of 55 miles per hour.
Due to the crash, the Gilmore rider suffered fatal injuries. However, officials handling the investigation encourage anyone with information to call CHP Officer Tiffany Quintana at 408-848-2324.
