Car Involved in Fatal Crash near Alturas Avenue
PITTSBURG, CA (April 15, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a man died in a car crash in the 3702 block of Railroad Avenue on early Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Alturas Avenue at about 2:22 AM.
A report from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District showed the victim’s vehicle crashing into the Contra Costa Canal.
Crews extricated the man trapped in the vehicle. After that, paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later died due to severe injuries. However, officials did not release the man’s identity.
It is unclear why the accident occurred. However, an investigation continues.
