Kevin Joy Struck and Killed by Train on Belmont Avenue [Fresno, CA]
Fatal Train and Pedestrian Crash near Abby Street
FRESNO, CA (April 9, 2020) – Police identified Kevin Joy as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train on Belmont Avenue on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Abby Street around 8:00 AM.
Witnesses said that the 47-year-old man of Fresno walked straight past the guard when a train hit him. Fresno police said the train crossing sign was working correctly at the time of the incident.
Officials transported Joy to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. He later died due to severe injuries.
The train crossing closed as officers continued to investigate.
