Christopher Gilpineda Fatally Struck by Driver on 10 Freeway [Pomona, CA]

Christopher Gilpineda Dies in 10 Freeway Crash Near Kellogg Drive

 
POMONA, CA (April 13, 2020) — A 21-year-old man died Saturday after being struck by a driver on the 10 Freeway near Kellogg Drive.
 
According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, Christopher Gilpineda of Montebello has been identified as the victim who died in the 11:25 p.m. incident.
 
Officers responded to the scene that evening and found a 2017 Honda Accord and a 2018 Honda Civic.
 
Investigators learned that Gilpineda’s tire blew out minutes before the accident, impelling him to stop his vehicle within the No. 3 and 4 lanes. Gilpineda purportedly exited his car when the other Honda began approaching.
 
Investigations further proved that the Honda driver struck the rear of Gilpineda’s car before striking Gilpineda in the No. 3 lane.
