Driver Killed, Worker Injured After Mail Vehicle Hits Liquor Store in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (April 9, 2020) — A postal worker died after his vehicle struck a liquor store in a crash on Jamacha Boulevard near Ramona Avenue Tuesday morning.
In the 9500 block of Jamacha Boulevard, a postal worker experienced a medical emergency. As a result, he crashed his mail truck into an unoccupied parked vehicle before slamming into a liquor store.
According to San Miguel Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Justin Fuller, emergency crews responded. However, it took them nearly 10 minutes to free the unresponsive mailman from the vehicle. However, after receiving CPR from paramedics and treatment from Sharp Grossmont Hospital employees, the 50-year-old man died.
His name will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
At this time, authorities plan to dive into the victim’s medical condition prior to the impact.
An ambulance crew transported another person to Sharp Memorial Hospital after that person sustained a serious lower-leg injury. In addition, a civil engineer arrived at the scene to survey the structural integrity of the building, which sustained extensive damage.
This is tragic news and our law firm would like to express its sincere and heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victim.
