One Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on 880 Freeway [Oakland, CA]
Vehicle and Pedestrian Involved in Major Crash near 29th Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (April 7, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on 880 Freeway on early Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near 29th Avenue on-ramp around 6:15 PM.
Reports from Oakland Police showed that the woman was found on the roadway’s right-hand side. The victim was struck by a white Ford F-250 pickup truck that came to rest in the center divider.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries. However, her condition was not immediately available.
Officers issued a Sig-alert closing the off-ramp and Nos. 3 and 4 lanes as rescue and clearing operations took place in the area.
