Fatal Car Accident on La Sierra Avenue Near Lake Crest Drive [Riverside, CA]

1 Dead, Another Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 9, 2020) — One person died Wednesday following a single-car accident on La Sierra Avenue near Lake Crest Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 7:00 a.m. crash happened on a four-lane quarter on the southbound side. The driver of the car reportedly lost control and struck a roadside object.
 
Crews responded to the accident soon after and found a victim needing extrication by firefighters. Upon being freed from the wreckage, the victim died due to severe injuries.
 
Officials had to close La Sierra Avenue down until 9 a.m. while police investigated the scene and combed for evidence that could explain the cause of the crash.
 
Another person was involved and suffered minor injuries; however, investigators provided no further details concerning this account.
