Woman Dies in Modesto Pedestrian Accident on Claus Road
MODESTO, CA (April 6, 2020) — A woman died after being struck by two vehicles in a pedestrian accident on Claus Road and Milnes Road Thursday night.
Authorities have identified the woman as a Los Angeles resident. However, it’s unclear whether her residence had been updated prior to her death.
Authorities determined through investigations that the unidentified woman was crossing the road when a vehicle struck her in the northbound lane.
According to Modesto police Traffic Unit Sgt. Lance Nicolai, the impact sent her to the southbound lane where an oncoming vehicle struck her again.
Due to her grave injuries, the woman, described as a transient, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, both drivers involved stopped their cars and cooperated with police investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a role in the accident; however, an ongoing investigation regarding the details remains.
