Sofia Ayal Arrested after Car Accident on Highway 12 [Pasco, CA]
Sofia Ayal Detained, Naw E. Htoo and Aung San Involved in Highway 12 Crash at Sacajawea Park Road
PASCO, CA (March 30, 2020) — A two-vehicle accident at Highway 12 and Sacajawea Park Road Saturday morning ended in an arrest and one injury.
According to reports, a 2005 Nissan Sentra traveling north on Sacajawea Park Road struck a Kia Sedona at the intersection around 5:35 a.m.
As soon as Washington State Patrol Troopers arrived, 36-year-old Sofia Ayala told investigators that someone else had been driving the car that she was riding in. However, she had no information to provide officers about the driver involved.
In the Kia Sedona, 31-year-old Naw E. Htoo, of Kennewick, sustained unknown injuries and received treatment at Lourdes Medical Center. The 37-year-old Kia Sedona driver, Aung San of Prescott, evaded injury.
Following a preliminary investigation, state troopers learned that Ayala, of Yakima, had a warrant for escaping community custody. They subsequently booked her into Franklin County Jail but are still investigating whether someone was truly driving the car at the time.
