Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Hit-and-Run Accident in Visalia
VISALIA, CA (March 30, 2020) — A woman suffered critical injuries following Wednesday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Dinuba Boulevard and West Vine Avenue.
According to officers, the crash took place around 7:45 p.m. when a driver struck the woman crossing near Northside Shopping Center. Arriving officers found the victim, motionless in the middle of the road.
Due to the extent of her injuries, emergency personnel took her to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment.
As for the vehicle involved, sources say it sped northbound immediately after striking the woman and sending her roughly a hundred feet from the point of impact.
Police closed the area near Food 4 Less as officers collected debris, evidence and statements from witnesses.
From their preliminary investigation, officers believe a midsize maroon-colored model that sustained front-end damage from the impact struck the woman. Yet anyone willing to help locate the hit-and-run driver’s whereabouts should call the Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit at 713-4237.
