4 Injured in 3-Car Collision on Central Road and Everson Goshen Road [Everson, WA]
4 Hurt Following Everson Multi-Car Accident
EVERSON, WA (March 23, 2020) — A multi-car collision on Central Road and Everson Goshen Road sent four people to a hospital Friday afternoon.
According to a radio broadcast, the 1:53 p.m. accident drew Whatcom County Fire District 1 units to the scene to find that three vehicles had collided.
Officials learned that a box truck, a passenger car and a dump truck collided.
Authorities determined that the westbound passenger car ran a stop sign at Central and Everson Goshen roads perhaps in an attempt to beat a southbound dump trunk.
Both cars consequently crashed, causing the dump truck to spin out and veer off the road. Meanwhile, the passenger car spun out and slammed into a northbound traveling box truck.
The 28-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle suffered minor injuries and his 19-year-old passenger suffered more significant injuries, including broken bones. Reports say firefighters had to perform extraction procedures to free the victim.
Both passenger vehicle occupants, along with the dump truck and box truck drivers, took to St. Joseph hospital for treatment.
Because details failed to add up, officers plan to parse out the events to determine the liabilities.
Car accidents can happen to anyone, even the safest drivers. However, you should always do your part to play it safe. Keep distractions away, abide by all road and traffic light signs and yield to other drivers. These safe driving reminders can minimize the dangers.
