Driver Dies after Crashing into Tree on Carmel Canyon Road [San Diego, CA]
Father Killed, Teens Injured in San Diego Car Accident on Carmel Canyon Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 13, 2020) — A father died, and his two children sustained minor to life-threatening injuries after crashing into a tree on Carmel Canyon Road near Carmel Knolls Drive Friday.
According to the San Diego Police, the 50-year-old father was purportedly speeding northbound in the 12000 block of Carmel Canyon Road amid rainy wet conditions.
The driver subsequently lost control of his black BMW sedan around 8:00 a.m. and slammed into a tree.
Due to the extreme impact, the BMW sheared into two pieces, causing life-threatening injuries to the driver’s 17-year-old son.
According to Officer Tony Martinez, the boy sustained grave injuries to his head while the boy’s 15-year-old sister suffered minor injuries and complained of abdominal pain.
The identity of the driver has not been released, but an investigation of this crash continues.
