2 People Killed in Oakdale 2-Car Crash on Highway 108
OAKDALE, CA (March 27, 2020) — A two-car crash on Highway 108 near Atlas Road early Thursday left two people dead.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 6:54 a.m.
CHP officers conducting a preliminary investigation learned that a 67-year-old man in a 2004 Pontiac coupe lost control for unknown reasons. The Pontiac proceeded to rotate counterclockwise from the eastbound to the westbound lane where it struck a westbound 2015 Nissan sedan.
The force of the impact caused the Pontiac to shear into two at the rear passenger compartment.
As a result, the Pontiac driver, as well as the 85-year-old male Nissan driver, died at the scene. Authorities determined that the 85-year-old man was not wearing his seatbelt.
