Speeding Leads to Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Sherman Way near Whitaker Avenue in Lake Balboa
LAKE BALBOA, CA (January 2, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a two-vehicle crash on Sherman Way on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Whitaker Avenue around 7:00 PM.
Based on a report, witnesses told responding officers that the victim was going at least 80 miles per hour east on Sherman Way at the time of the crash. Due to unknown circumstances, it collided with another vehicle.
As a result, Los Angeles police said the victim died at the scene. Officials identified him as a 26-year-old man. The man’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. In addition, two people in the second car suffered minor injuries in the incident.
