Victor Ortega Brito Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on North Freeway Road [Tucson, AZ]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on 10 Freeway near Speedway Boulevard in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (December 14, 2020) – Officials identified Victor Ortega Brito as the victim who died in a crash on North Freeway Road on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Speedway Boulevard shortly before 12:30 PM.
Based on a report, the vehicle that Brito was in was traveling south on North Freeway Road before the collision. As it approached the intersection at West Speedway, it collided with a 2018 Subaru Impreza that was stopped at a red light. Subsequently, the vehicle swerved into the left-turn lane and collided with the back of a fully-loaded dump truck.
Upon arrival, Tucson Fire Department personnel rendered aid to Brito. Immediately, they transported him to Banner-University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Subaru or commercial vehicle did not display any sign of impairment. However, police said speed on the part of Brito’s vehicle played a factor in the incident. In addition, an investigation is ongoing.
